A little background

From contemporary looks inspired by the catwalk to shoes that put growing feet in safe hands, one name says it all: Clarks. We worked closely with Clark’s Chief Brand Officer to deliver a website that would help them share their story, brand and recruitment proposition in the most creative and compelling and relevant way. The result was the Clarks Jobs careers website.

Please note that this website was designed, developed and delivered by the team while we were working at ThirtyThree.

Our approach

Working in partnership with the Clarks resourcing, brand and digital teams, the brief was to deliver a website that:

  • Helps position Clarks as a global company at the forefront of brand and design;
  • Appeals to a wide range of job seekers – from retailers to distributors, footwear designers to financiers;
  • Portrays what life is like at Clarks;
  • Gets the right people straight to the right jobs;
  • Continues to evolve with the needs of the business;
  • Is accessible across all devices.

With a new brand team in place and a bold new vision, big things are happening at Clarks. As a result the new careers website had to help Clarks attract a new generation of creative talent. The content is focused on where Clarks is going, not necessarily where it’s been. It’s contemporary and elegant in its design, with great photography, genuinely interesting stories and beautifully-shot short films. It really does capture Clarks’ vision.

Designed to attract and engage job seekers looking for careers in retail, distribution and corporate services, the site directs the user to the content that it feels is best suited to them. Offering specific candidate journey’s to support key areas of recruitment. As a result, someone looking for a role in store will have a very different website experience to someone looking to join as a Footwear Designer.

There is a rich mixture of content including short films from business leaders, details on the rewards, benefits, training and development available, tours of the working environment, relevant blog articles and, of course, relevant jobs. The site calls upon the stories and experiences of current employees to ensure that applicants have all the information that they need to join Clarks.

And of course to make the site as accessible as possible, content can be viewed and jobs can be applied for on whatever device the visitor fancies – smartphone, desktop, laptop or tablet.

The impact so far

To see the impact of the new Clarks Jobs careers website, we have compared the performance of the new website against that of the previous incarnation. All data has been taken from Google Analytics, the HARBOUR application tracking system and directly from Clarks’ resourcing team.
