A little background

Deichmann has been a family-owned business since 1913, having started over 100 years ago in Essen, Germany. This is still the headquarter for the group of companies, but Deichmann now operates in 31 countries with approximately 4,200 stores and employs around 41,000 people. This includes over 100 stores in the UK. We worked with the human resources and brand teams to produce a series of short films that help position Deichmann as a great employer. A main employer brand film and a series of short films to use across their social media channels.

Our approach

Deichmann were looking for a series of films that would:

  • Help position the wide range of opportunities within the retail chain
  • Show a typical day in the life of one of their stores
  • Tell the career stories of a number of Deichmann people

Together the films would give the viewer a real insight into what it is that makes Deichmann a unique place to work. Using people who know the business best to articulate the rewards and benefits, learning and development, and career opportunities that come from working for the business.

What is it like to work at Deichmann?

A chat to some of the talented people who work in the Deichmann retail network, from Sales Advisor to the Regional Manager – and everything in between. We asked them all sorts of questions about working in a Deichmann store and this is what they had to say.

A short social media film

Meet Cadelia, a City Store Manager as he talks about what you can expect from working for Deichmann, what they expect from you and what it is that he loves about working for Deichmann.

Another short social media film

Meet Gemma, a Supervisor as she talks about what you can expect from working for Deichmann, what they expect from you and what it is that she loves about working for Deichmann.

It’ll be alright on the night

Over the course of eight hours we captured enough material to create the employer branding film and four short films for their social media channels. But of course there were a few clips that didn’t make it into the final films.
